This Saturday marks the end of our build, with the robot being handed over to the programmers for testing, which we plan to finish by the middle of the week. The programmers have been working hard on perfecting our drive train and on making a low bandwidth video stream for our driver station. Our strategy team has been in contact with many other teams across the country, and we have met directly with another local team to collaborate on potential modifications to our designs. Lastly, our media team has been hard at work preparing our Chairman's award presentation, and is in the process of making a reveal video for our robot, the "Honey Badger," which will be posted to our YouTube channel by Wednesday.
The team is making great progress in the build so far. We are almost done with the chassis and are making plans to construct a second robot in order to practice driving, to fine tune code, and to let our younger members get experience with the tools we have in our shop. Our programming team has almost perfected the drive train code, and is now moving on to vision and autonomous. Our strategy team has been hard at work compiling a list of teams attending our regionals, and will be contacting them this weekend to start compiling our possible alliance picks. Last, but certainly not least, our media department has been working on our presentation for the Chairman's Award, and is working on our trinkets to hand out at competition. We are also hosting a practice session on February 11th from 12-3 PM CST for the teams in the community to test their designs. We look forward to having our neighboring teams collaborate with us and cannot wait for competition!
