The Transition Year

Our team's 2016 season was filled with leadership transitions. Our team had acquired Mr. Charbonnet, our current teacher sponsor, from his old school, and was also trying to replace the entirety of our student executive board with new members. The confusion caused by the replacement of our entire leadership caused us to focus more on team structure rather than the robot.

Off Season

After Recycle Rush, our team had set its sights on redemption. We spent the time before build season teaching our new members how to use tools and create efficient solutions to seemingly complex problems. We also worked to do more for our town in order to help us toward our goal of the Chairman's award.

Competition

At Little Rock, our team placed 8th as an alliance captain. The match was close, but we were held back due to our top-heavy robot flipping over in autonomous. In Knoxville, we were not able to make it to elimination matches, but we put up a good fight and managed to place at around 20th.

Build Season

After kickoff, our team went through several designs before settling on one that we thought would work well. We created a wedge-shaped robot with tank treads driven by 6 CIM motors and a shooter with 2 775 pros. Our final design also included a roller arm, which was useful both as a counterweight and as an assistant to our ball intake

Our Fight For Chairman's

We came closer than ever to winning the Chairman's award at regionals. We spent our time in the preseason helping out our community and mentoring even more teams, but we fell short due to a lack of international outreach. The Judges did, however, commend us for our tremendous growth as a team in under 3 years.
